Picard maneuver
Last updated: September 20, 2026
An aggressive hostile that locks onto one of your ships ruins the run: it chases, it hits, and your ship stops doing what you asked. The Picard maneuver takes it out of the way.
What it does
When an aggressive hostile charges at the ship of a drydock, the bot runs the maneuver: the aggressor parks on a decoy, and your ship goes back to work. It applies to miners as well as hunters.
How to turn it on
Tick Picard on the line of the drydock, in the Fleet tab. It is off by default, on purpose: an aggressive hostile is sometimes a windfall rather than a problem, and the maneuver costs a round trip. It is a choice you make drydock by drydock.
Running it by hand
The Assistant tab has a Picard button for the ship you have selected in the game. Those are one-off gestures you run yourself, with the bot stopped.
Quick answers
What does the Picard column do?
It lets that drydock deal with an aggressive hostile that locks onto its ship: the aggressor ends up parked on a decoy and the ship goes back to work.
Why is it off by default?
Because an aggressive hostile is sometimes worth taking, and the maneuver costs a round trip. You decide, drydock by drydock.
Does it work for miners too?
Yes, for miners as well as hunters.
Can I run it myself?
Yes. The Assistant tab has a Picard button you run by hand, with the bot stopped, on the ship you have selected in the game.
