Setups by target

Same bot, different settings. These are the setups players use for each kind of target, all of them in the General tab.

The General tab of Anbots NG: hostile types, Kill on Sight, the level range and the skip options

Apex

Allow every hostile type and set Interceptor as Kill on Sight. The ship goes for an Apex first and, while there is none, keeps farming the closest hostile instead of waiting.

Scouts

Same idea in a system that spawns scouts: leave every type ticked for the kill rate, and name Interceptor as Kill on Sight.

Swarm and eclipse

Everything ticked, no priority. What matters here is the system you choose: pick one where your ship does not spend half the run flying home.

Borg

Choose a system where your cargo hold fills with nanoprobes, tick every type for the kill rate, and set Miner as Kill on Sight if you want the Ferengi first.

High level hostiles

For reputation grinding, put a crew dedicated to that hostile type on the ship and tick that type only. No Kill on Sight is needed: adding one would make the ship pick a target anywhere on the screen instead of the closest one.

What stays true in every setup

The bot skips aggressive and boss hostiles, and it never attacks another player. Recall, repairs and shield work the same everywhere: see hostile hunting.

Quick answers

Should I tick every hostile type?

Usually yes. The more types you allow, the less time your ship spends looking for a target, and Kill on Sight still gives priority to the one you want.

When should I not use Kill on Sight?

When you are farming whatever comes, such as swarm or eclipse. Leave every type ticked and no priority: the ship takes the closest allowed hostile.

How do I farm a hostile that is rare in the system?

Allow every type and name the rare one as Kill on Sight. The ship looks for it first and falls back to the others while it is not there.
